A traditional baked minced meat dish of Cape domestic cookery, recorded in Hildagonda Duckitt's 1891 household cookery book published in London. Minced beef mixed with curry powder, sautéed onions, and milk-soaked bread is topped with an egg-and-milk custard, baked in the oven until golden, and served with rice in this untested home recreation proposal.
